Opening new windows in browsers, also called popups, are usually blocked by default and you will have to activate it manually.

Turn pop-ups on or off
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
- At the bottom, click Advanced.
- Under 'Privacy and security', click Site settings.
- Click Pop-ups and redirects.
- At the top, turn the setting to Allowed or Blocked.
Block or allow pop-ups from a specific site
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Go to a page where pop-ups are blocked.
- In the address bar, click Pop-up blocked .
- Click the link for the pop-up that you want to see.
- To always see pop-ups for the site, select Always allow pop-ups and redirects from [site] and thenDone

When a popup windows is blocked, Firefox display a information bar (if it hasn't been previously deactivated - see below), as well as an icon in the address bar
When you click either the Options button in the info bar or the icon in the address bar, a menu is displayed with the following choices:
- Allow/Block pop-ups for this site
- Edit Pop-up Blocker Options…
- Don't show this message when pop-ups are blocked
- (show the blocked pop-up)

To turn Pop-up Blocker on or off
- Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button, and then select Internet options.
- On the Privacy tab, under Pop-up Blocker, select or clear the Turn on Pop-up Blocker check box, and then select OK.

To disable the pop-up blocker in Microsoft Edge::
- Open Microsoft Edge.
Click the More button in the top right.
Click Settings.
Click Privacy & Security on the left.
Under Security, click the Block pop-ups toggle to turn it to Off.

Block/Unblock Safari Pop-ups in Mac OS :
- Go to the browser menu and select Safari.
- Choose Preferences.
- In the Websites dialog box, click Websites, then, in the left pane, select Pop-up Windows.
- Make your selection for the current website. Choose to either block pop-ups and notify you when it happens (Block and Notify), block without notifying you (Block) or allow pop-ups (Allow).
- To do the same when visiting other websites, select When visiting other websites in the lower-right corner of the window. If this check box is selected, Safari's integrated pop-up blocker is enabled.
- On earlier macOS versions, select Windows > Preferences, then select the Block pop-up windows check box.
